Nostalgic venue, talented competition, and a coach's imploring voice coaxed exciting racing out the young men of CC . . . earning a victory for the royal blue and white!
200 yd Medley Relay: Depth is crucial. A point emphasized early on as CC scored 2nd and third place points in the 200 Medley Relay. The team of
Jack Szuba, Roshi Turmer,
Paddy Gerzema, & Camren Turowski posted a seasons best time (1:39.28 - state cut), while finishing second.
Marcus Vlad,
Adyn Stoddard,
Ryan Brown &
Sam York teamed up for 3rd.
200 yd Freestyle: Freshman James Meiselbach "gutted" out the 200 freestyle, racing for fourth in a personal best time (1:56.43)! Paddy placed third and
Ryan Brown finished 5th.
200 yd IM: Roshi posted CC's first event victory of the night, just missing the pool record, swimming a stout 1:58.85 (state qualifying time).
50 yd Freestyle: Chants of "let's go boys" sparked the "fire" as Camren (22.12 sec - state cut) and Jack (22.73 sec) finished one two . . . huge! Go Shamrocks!
1 Diving: Our diving duo of
Jack Fadool and
Michael Mallie were vital participants in the team's close victory securing first and third place points respectively.
100 yd Butterfly: Fresh off his USA Junior National experience,
Luke Mychalowych raced to 2nd place finish, posting a state qualifying time of 53.38 seconds.
Ryan Brown fought valiantly for fourth place (58.88 sec).
100 yd Freestyle: Camren and Jack teamed up again sprinting to 2nd and 3rd respectively. Camren posted his second state qualifying time (48.69 sec) of the night.
500 yd Freestyle: True grit . . .
Peter Dombkowski toughed out the nights distance event without googles, finishing 5th while Paddy scored valuable 2nd place points.
200 yd Freestyle Relay: Now that's racing! Camren Turowski touched out his opponent, leading his mates Luke, Ryan, &
Jonah Barcelon, from the anchor position, to victory! The time (1:30.97) achieved another state qualifying cut. The talented "B" relay team of
Marcus Vlad,
Drew Abbott, Max Mast, &
Liam Finn secured 3rd.
100 yd Backstroke: Dropping time,
Roshi Turner swam to a crucial first place finish in the 100 Backstroke (54.91 sec - state cut). James finished 3rd with an outstanding personal best 58.37 sec swim. Jonah raced the 4th posting a 1:00.45
100 yd Breaststroke: One, three, four . . . a victory statement swim! The breaststroke group of Luke, Adyn, & Peter showed CC's depth. Luke's time (1:00.58) is a state qualifying cut.
400 yd Freestyle Relay: Spent, the team of
Jack Szuba,
Roshi Turner,
Paddy Gerzema, and
Luke Mychalowych, muscled out a second place finish pacing our third place group of
Sam York,
Marcus Vlad,
Jonah Barcelon and James Meiselbach.
