The Catholic Central lacrosse team is back on top.
The Shamrocks claimed the MHSAA Division 1 State Championship on Saturday, June 6, defeating Hudsonville 14-10 at Parker Middle School in Howell to bring home another state title.
Catholic Central put together a strong offensive performance, scoring 14 goals against a talented Hudsonville squad and maintaining control throughout the championship contest. The Shamrocks' balanced attack and disciplined play helped them fend off every challenge as they closed out the victory.
The championship is the Shamrocks' second state title in the last three seasons and another milestone for one of Michigan's premier lacrosse programs. Catholic Central battled through a challenging schedule and postseason run to earn its place atop Division 1. As a bonus, Coach Stan Zajdel '88 was inducted into the MHSLCA Hall of Fame at halftime.
A key contributor throughout the championship season was senior Ryan Dye '26, who was recently named a finalist for the Warrior Lacrosse Player of the Year Award. Dye's leadership, skill, and impact on both ends of the field helped power the Shamrocks throughout their title run and cemented his place among the state's elite players.
Congratulations to the players, coaches, and supporters who helped make this championship season possible. Go Shamrocks!
