Coach Joe Mach is entering his 18th year of both teaching and coaching at Detroit Catholic Central as well as his 13th season as a varsity assistant.  This is his 8th season as coordinator of the "Brick Wall Defense."  This past season (2024), Mach's defense held opponents to just 8.9 points per game while helping the Shamrocks win the Detroit Catholic League Championship as well as an MHSAA Regional Championship.  Mach is a graduate of CC from the class of 2003 and was a member of the 2001 and 2002 State Championship football teams.  During that time, he also earned CHSL All-Academic Honors in 2002.  Prior to coaching at CC, Mach attended The University of Michigan.  During his time at U of M, he held a position as an undergraduate assistant to Offensive Coordinator Terry Malone (CC class of '78) while earning his B.S. in Physical Education.  Mach returned to CC in the fall of 2008.  Joe is the son of former Head Football Coach Tom Mach and the brother of fellow Assistant Football Coach Mike Mach.  You can find Coach Mach on X: @JMachDCC.
