BOB SANTELLO '58


A legndary figure in CC athletics. Bob Santello began making his mark as a member Cross Country and Track teams. Upon graduation, Bob earned degrees from both University of Detroit and Wayne State University before returning to CC to Teach, Coach and Administer for the next 48 years.

Bob coached Football, Basketball and Track & Field and was the School's Dean of Students (1975 — 1978). However, it was as Athletic Director that Bob made his greatest impact upon his beloved Alma Mater. Under his leadership, CC student - athletes won an astounding 137 Catholic High School League (CHSL) Championships and 33 State Championships with countless others earning individual State Titles.

Bob was named CHSL AD of the year in 1980 & 2000 and tl» Michigan AD Association Private School AD of Year in 1992. In 1995 he won the CHSL — Ed Lauer Person of the Year award. Bob is a member of Catholic High School League (CHSL) Hall of Fame. Bob was also honored as the Fr. Canning Harrison, CSB Alumnus of the Year in 2000.
