FR. GERARD FRENCH, CSB


A legendary figure in the history of CC, Fr. French served CC for 56 years. He is most famous for creating the Belmont A.C. in 1942 and for coaching the CC Boxing Team from 1942 1961. Boxing was his own favorite sport and his devotion to the sport resulted in many CC boys earning Golden Glove Championships. Fr. French also served CC as Head Baseball Coach frorn 1953-55. Fr. French began his long tenure as the CC Athletic Director in 1949. He is a member of the Catholic League Hall of Fame.
