GREG WENDT '81


One of the finest basketball players and athletes in CC history, Greg Wendt was a three year Varsity Player who earned All-Catholic, All-Metro, Dream Team All-State, and Catholic School All-American his senior year in 1981. As a Sophomore and Junior, Greg also garnered All-Catholic, All-Metro and All-State Honors. Greg graduated from CC as the basketball program's all-time leading scorer, for both his career and a single season. Upon graduation, Greg earned a scholarship to Duke University where he played for two seasons before transferring home to the University of Detroit. At U of D, Greg was twice named All-Conference and a team captain before being drafted by the Boston Celtics in 1986. Greg also starred as a CC Baseball player, playing first base and pitcher, and was a member of the 1979 Baseball State Championship team.
