GREGORY MARX '68


An intimidating force, both in football and basketball, Greg Marx was an exceptional athlete at Catholic Central. Greg led the 1968 basketball team to the Catholic League and City Championships while earning All-City and All-State recognition. On the gridiron, he earned 1st Team All-City, All-State and All-American honors. After being named the state's Defensive Player of the Year by the Detroit News, Greg accepted a football scholarship to the University of Notre Dame, where he was named captain and 1st Team All-American in 1972. A two-time Academic All-American, Greg earned post-graduate scholarships from both the NCAA and the National Football Foundation. Greg was the first-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in the 1973 NFL Draft.
