BIOGRAPHY
DOUGLAS BRZEZINSKI '94
Doug Brzezinski was an outstanding lineman for the Shamrocks in 1992 and 1993. As a junior in 1992, Doug helped pave the way for the Shamrocks to win the State Class AA Championship In his Senior year, Doug was Captain of the Football team, and named to the All-Catholic, All-State, All-American, and Detroit Free Press Dream Teams. Doug was selected to participate in the 1994 Michigan East-West All-Star Football game. This success earned Doug a football scholarship to Boston College. Doug served as an anchor for the Boston College Eagles' Offensive Line, starting 46 consecutive games. Doug earned 1st Team All-Big East honors in both his Junior and Senior years. Doug was Team Captain his Senior year and won the Thomas F. Scanlan Scholar Athlete Award given by the Football 1991-1993 ATHLETIC Boston College Varsity Club to a senior football player for his outstanding scholarship, leadership, and athletic ability. In 2000, he was named to the Big East Anniversary Team. The Philadelphia Eagles selected Doug in the 3rd Round of the 1999 NFL Draft, where he played until 2002. In 2003 he was traded to the Carolina Panthers where he helped the Panthers earn a victory in the NFC Championship and an appearance in Super Bowl XXXVIII. In addition to his remarkable Football talents, Doug was also an integral part of the CC Track & Field Team, earning All-Area and All-Catholic honors in the Shot-Put. Doug was inducted into the Catholic High School League Hall of Fame in 1999.
