CHUCK MCHENRY


One of the most beloved coaches in CC history, Coach Chuck McHenry began coaching the football Reserves (J V) in 1952. In 1956, Coach McHenry joined the Varsity football staff when long-time friend, St. Brigid grade school classmate, and CC Hall of Fame coach Bill Foley was named as Varsity Head Coach. Coach McHenry coached Varsity football from 1956 — 1970. A graduate of Detroit Cooley High School and Wayne State University, Coach McHenry played football for Wayne State after serving in the United States Air Force. While serving in the Air Force, Coach McHenry was an amateur and professional boxer and later served the sport as a judge. Prior to coming to CC, Coach McHenry also coached CYO football at his grade school alma mater — St. Brigid.
