BIOGRAPHY
TOM LAGARDE '73
Perhaps the finest Basketball player to ever compete CC, Tom LaGarde is certainly the most decorated. Tom played Varsity Basketball for three seasons, leading his team to the 197 CHSL Championship and an overall 23-1 record. As a senior,Tom earned both All-state and All-American honors and was one of the most sought after recruits in the nation.
He culminated his CC Career by winning the Rev. James Whelan, CSB Award as the outstanding Scholar/Athlete/Gentlemen for 1973.
Tom Receieved a basektball scholarship to the University of North Carolina and was a collegiate All-American and a member of the UNC Final Four team in 1977. Tom was a member of the 1975 USA Pan-American Gold Medal team and the 1976 USA Olympic Gold Medal team. Tom began his professional career in 1977 by being drafted #9 overall in the NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets and was a member of the 1979 NBA Champions - Seattle Supersonics.Â
