BIOGRAPHY
CHRISTOPHER SABO '80
One of the finest baseball players in school history, Chris Sabo was a member of CC's first MHSAA State Championship Baseball Team in 1979. Named All-State his junior and senior years at CC, Chris was drafted by the Montreal Expos in 1980, but instead accepted a scholarship to attend the University of Michigan. As a senior at Michigan in 1983, Chris was named a 1st Team All-American. After college, the Cincinnati Reds drafted Chris where he was named the Jackie Robinson National League (NL) Rookie of the Year while being named to the NL All-Star Team. In 1990, Chris was named World Series MVP and led the Cincinnati Reds to a World Championship. During his MLB career, Chris was named to the All-Star team three times. An outstanding all-around athlete, Chris was also an excellent golfer. As a freshman in 1976, he was a member of CC's Catholic League Champion Golf team.
